The new animated ad for borro.com – the UK’s first online pawnbroker – is aimed at those of us who have never used a pawnbroker before and wouldn’t normally consider it because of the stigma it attracts.
The ad will air on Channel 4, Bravo, Living and all of the main Sky channels and here’s the script:
“If you need money in a hurry you could always sell your valuables.
Trouble is, it’s not the best time to sell, and once they’re gone they’re gone.
So why not visit borro.com or call free on 08000 56 1000 or 08000 567 444 – we could look after your valuables, and transfer you a lump sum.
And when you repay your loan – you’ll get everything back!
And that’s why more and more people are getting the money they need from us.
So why sell when you can borro.com.”
Not sure of the exact on-air dates yet but you can see it on their website here.
There seems to have been a number of ads recently for goods and services that may be seen as ‘unsavoury’ including the recent ad for the morning after pill by Levonelle which caused a gentle stir recently.
It is interesting times in TV adland and I for one welcome a different breed of advertisiers on our screen. What do you think?
