Is Michael Eavis All There?

I, like millions of others prefer my festivals from the comfort of my armchair (at least that nothing will get nicked from my tent!). So I made good use of my licence fee and watched the BBC coverage of Glastonbury 2008.

I’m not a big fan of Amy Winehouse but I couldn’t switch off when she came on and did her set………I was mesmerised by the appalling performance.

She obviously has talent (or bloody good producers) but I couldn’t help but think that she did a fantastic job of hiding any shred of it at Glasto this weekend. Amy slurred her way through the set looking like a cheap drag act and then decided to go walkabout.

She graced her adoring fans and then decided to punch one a few times……..shocking!

According to Glastonbury organiser, Michael Eavis, a fan had tried to grope her breast and she lashed out. I’m sorry but who in their right mind would want to try and touch up a bag of bones? Particularly one that looks like a man in a Lily Savage wig!

Eavis went on to describe her performance as a ‘triumph’.

“It’s the biggest crowd I’ve ever seen on that stage,” he explained. “She was absolutely brilliant, she became a superstar. You know what she asked me at the end of that show? ‘Can I headline next year?’ How about that? Will she? I don’t know if her manager approves, he was standing behind her, but that’s all she said to me.”

Wake up and smell the coffee Michael!!! Her performance was abysmal, she didn’t even seem to know the lyrics to some of her songs. The rants between these attempts were just ridiculous and the crowd could be heard to boo as she bleated on about her incarcerated husband Blake Civil-Fielder.

As for having her headline next year………let’s just see if she can stay off the booze and drugs to live that long.
